T-Shirt to Tank

This project was super simple. It's another upcycle! The inspiration came from a post on Pinterest of a shirt from Anthropologie.

Inspiration

Supplies
  • Old T-Shirt a couple sizes too big
  • Scissors
  • Matching or complimentary thread
  • Sewing Machine

Layout your t-shirt on a flat surface. Cut off the sleeves, collar and a skinny strip at the top.

Next, pin a seam where the sleeves used to be. Also, fold over about half an inch of fabric at the top on both sides and pin it.

Take the skinny piece of fabric you cut from the top of the shirt and sew the two pieces together at one end. Then, sew a seam down the middle of it and turn it right side in.

Now, sew the seams at the old arm holes and each folded part.

Take the skinny piece and thread it through the top if the shirt and sew the other ends together.

Now you have your new shirt! I made mine for about $2.50 with a shirt from Goodwill.
