Rope Bracelet

I love the shabby chic style. This bracelet is exactly that! I found this post on Pinterest and wanted one for myself! It's a really cute cuff!

Inspiration

Supplies

  • Fabric
  • Thread
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Button
  • Sewing Machine

First, cut your fabric. You will end up with five pieces. One piece three inches wide that wraps around your wrist with about an inch overlapping. Four pieces one inch wide about 3 inches (or more) longer than the one you wrapped around your wrist.

Take the three inch wide piece and cut three rows of slits about half an inch apart.

Now, lay the four strips overlapping each other on top of the three inch piece. Sew them down with a sewing machine (or you can sew it by hand).

Take the first strip on the right and pull it through the first slit. Wrap it around the side and pull it through the second slit. Continue this all the way down.

For the second strip, pull it through the first middle slit. Push it back through the second slit of the right side where you pushed the first strip through. Continue pulling the second strip through the middle slits and pushing them through the first row of slits all the way down.

For the third strip, pull it through the first middle slit where you first pulled through the second strip. Do the same with this strip but push it through the slits on the left.

For the fourth strip, do exactly what you did with the first strip but do it on the left side.

Trim the extra pieces from the end if necessary.

Fold both ends over about 1/4 of an inch and sew. Add a loop of fabric to one side and the button to the other.

Now you have a super cute, shabby chic bracelet!
